Telenet Business strengthens the sales department with a new function

Geert Degezelle (46) will be the Vice President Enterprise Sales

Mechelen, January 18, 2021. Geert Degezelle (46) will start as Vice President Enterprise Sales at Telenet Business from February 1, 2021. He is thereby filling a new position. All the sales departments at Telenet Business that focus on SMEs and large companies will from now on fall under his responsibility.

Geert Degezelle is a telecom engineer (University College Antwerp) with a postgraduate degree in telecom (University of Antwerp), and an MBA from the Flanders Business School. He has been fascinated by technology for years, and in particular by the question of how that technology can serve people, companies and society. Because this is also the DNA of Telenet, he wants to make a difference here. Martine Tempels, Executive Vice President of Telenet Business, is pleased about his arrival.

“Geert is the right person to carry out this task. We want to further realize our ambition to make Telenet Business a one voice/one stop shop for our customers. Geert has the necessary experience and background to further roll out that project. I’m therefore really looking forward to working with him”, says Martine Tempels.

Geert Degezelle's career has mainly been in the telecom sector, including spells at Proximus and Telindus (13 years).

At Proximus, he was responsible for all the sales consultants and architects, for both telecom and ICT, but also worked in strategy, innovation and M&A. In addition, he was able to build-up the cybersecurity business and was responsible for the networking & cloud business unit. He subsequently became CEO of Telindus Netherlands, where he worked for four years. On his return to Belgium, he became CEO at Cheops Technology.

Geert Degezelle is married and has 2 sons. He likes to cook in his spare time. In addition to mountain biking, sailing and golf, he is also a passionate amateur photographer.

Telenet brings Belgian football back home
Mechelen, 4 May 2026 - Telenet and DAZN have signed a distribution agreement for Belgian football. As a result, from next season onwards, Telenet customers will once again be able to watch all Jupiler Pro League matches live via Telenet. The agreement applies for the remainder of DAZN’s current rights period.
