Multitasker with a voice
Describing Saduman in just a few words? A multitasker with multiple interests. Our ‘Risk & Fraud analyst’ is also the voice-over in some of our Telenet videos. She’s multilingual (4 languages) and successfully finished her first year of Portuguese earlier this year. In her free time she likes to design clothes for men, women and children, and on top of that she’s an amazing singer!
Saduman has a genuine love for music and is proud of what she can do with her voice. In her twenties, she started with a hard rock band ‘Netsillik’ and regularly performed in Brussels and Wallonia. “I was at the music academy when I became the lyric singer of a band, for the first time.” A couple of years later she released a second album with the Electro-pop band ‘NÔ’ and was the guest singer of ‘Sinshaper’ a band from Gooik (dubstep band). Today she no longer performs in a band but she wants her voice to be heard in a different way.
3 diplomas in the pocket
Being graduated as accountant, Saduman started her career in the Finance department of a nuclear engineering company Westinghouse Electric Europe. But her passion for fashion kept on growing and so she decided to go for it and she took an evening course ‘Fashion Design’. “I still have all the material at home. It’s my main hobby now. I even designed the wedding dress of my sister and a couple of friends!”
After a reorganization she lost her job as an accountant. Driven by her passion for languages she took a course in Communication & Marketing and quickly found a job as Customer Relationships manager at Scabal, a well-known brand for tailored menswear. “A match made in heaven: I could combine my passion for fashion with a job in marketing.”
However, being a woman, it wasn’t easy to climb the career ladder in that ‘men’s business’. The experience however brought her a lot of extra knowledge and skills, which eventually led her to a job at BASE. She has been working in our ‘Risk & Fraud’ team for almost 12 years now. “New managers, reorganisations, takeovers,… I’ve seen it all here. Fortunately I’m very flexible: I adapt quickly and I love working in team.”
Detect fraud and monitor risks
As Risk & Fraud analyst Saduman tries to limit the risk on fraudulent activities. “Prevention, monitoring, fraud case management, contacts with different customers,… It’s quite a job and it sometimes requires cold bloodedness and good communication skills.”
Next to that, Saduman and her team are also handling the investigations. "For example: cases received by customers complaining about subscriptions they never took. We then start investigating based on an official PV and if there really is a contract, we have to figure out whether it was bought with a stolen identity card etc.” But they are also point of contact for shop agents and internal colleagues during new customers’ activation. “Sometimes shop colleagues or partners are facing some activation difficulties with foreign documents or new companies, so we support and help them until the end. That’s the spirit, helping each other out!”
Voice-over expert
On top of all that, Saduman is also the voice-over in some Telenet videos. “I really want to do something with my voice. That’s why last year I started a course ‘Voice over’.”
At Telenet, we make a lot of internal movies, for example training videos for the shops when we launch a new product. Last year Saduman pluck up courage and asked HR if there were any voice-over possibilities for her within the company. “And today, from time to time, I do the French voice-overs. It’s quite a long and intense course, so it’s very nice that I can practice at Telenet already!”
