Telenet gets green light from Belgian Competition Authority for takeover of TelelinQ NV (Nextel)
Brussels, Wednesday 23 May 2018 — The Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) gave the go-ahead yesterday, on 22 May 2018, for the planned acquisition of the company TelelinQ NV and its subsidiaries Nextel NV, Nextel Telecom Solutions NV and TelelinQ D & F NV (hereinafter referred to as Nextel or “the Company”) by Telenet Group BVBA. This takeover will support the growth of Telenet Business by providing it with additional expertise to design, build and manage all-in-one solutions for businesses. Nextel is a Belgian integrator working for large companies, SMEs, healthcare institutions, non-profit organizations and public authorities. Nextel has offices in Wommelgem and Zaventem, and currently employs 340 people.
On 6 November 2017, Telenet Group Holding NV (“Telenet” or the “Company”) announced that it had reached a final agreement to take over TelelinQ NV and its subsidiaries Nextel NV, Nextel Telecom Solutions NV and TelelinQ D & F NV.
The Belgian Competition Authority today gave the unconditional go-ahead for the transaction. Telenet will formally and legally close the transaction in the next few days.
