Telenet adds Dutch language Champions league rights to Play Sports

  • Telenet will also be broadcasting the UEFA Champions League from 2024 and extend the broadcasting rights for the UEFA Europe League & UEFA Conference League. ​
  • Play Media is gaining exclusive Dutch language rights to the UEFA Europe League & UEFA Conference League.

Following the finalization of the bidding process for the UEFA rights for the 2024-2027 period, Telenet has emerged as one of the winners. Starting from the 2024-2025 season, customers of the Play Sports subscription package will also be able to enjoy the UEFA Champions League, in addition to the other competitions, as the UEFA Europe League & UEFA Conference League were also awarded to Telenet for 3 seasons. This gives Play Sports customers access to top level soccer every single day of the week.

Telenet and Play Media remain committed to sports. With Play Sports Telenet is offering the most comprehensive premium sports package in Flanders. By also securing broadcasting rights to the UEFA Champions League, Telenet’s sports range has been extended with another top level offering, in addition to exclusive rights to, for example, the English Premier League, Formula 1, ATP & WTA tennis, FIH Hockey Pro League, etc.

All Play Sports customers will consequently be able to access championship soccer from next season. This means that from now on Tuesdays and Wednesdays have also been promoted to soccer days at Play Sports. In addition to the UEFA Champions League, which always guarantees spectacular moments, the UEFA Europe League and UEFA Conference League have also continued to gain importance in recent years. The latter in particular seems to be a perfect fit for the Belgian teams. It is brilliant news for sports fans, therefore, that Play Sports is able to offer its customers this trio of the most prominent European soccer leagues.

Play Media, a subsidiary of Telenet, also has excellent news as it was able to secure the exclusive Dutch language broadcasting rights to the UEFA Europe League and UEFA Conference League in Flanders. All UEFA Europe League and UEFA Conference League matches will consequently be shown live in Flanders exclusively on Play Media or Play Sports.
