Telenet rewarded for the seventh time as sustainability leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, category global media sector

Saturday, September 14, 2019 — Overnight Telenet reconfirmed its sustainability leadership in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and was rewarded for the seventh time as sustainability leader for the global media industry, with a strong economic, environmental and social performance.

Telenet will continue its membership of the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe and World Indices, for the ninth consecutive year. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) exclusively consists of leading companies that are best equipped to recognize and respond to emerging opportunities and risks resulting from global sustainability trends.

The results of the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Review were announced overnight by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM. The DJSI consist of leading companies across all industries that outperform their peers in the same sector on relevant sustainability metrics. The organisation assesses a company's long-term value creation with questions on financially material economic, environmental, and social practices, tracking issues such as corporate governance, environmental performance, supply chain standards and employee retention.

With a company score of 80 points, Telenet reconfirmed its sustainability leadership for the global media sector, with a strong social, environmental and economic performance. Telenet is the only DJSI Sector Leader in Belgium.

Telenet achieves the highest ratings for its social performance (85 points) and shows strong results for its environmental (79 points) and economic (75 points) performance.

Malines, 30 april 2026 - Wyre bv, Telenet bv, Proximus nv and Fiberklaar bv have signed long-form agreements on the intended network collaboration to support the further deployment of high-speed gigabit networks across Flanders. This is a new step forward towards an effective collaboration, designed to extend the reach of gigabit-capable infrastructure, enabling more consumers to benefit from faster connectivity while reducing the need for duplicated civil works.
